Hey BLCC Team Members, there is no meeting this week the next scheduled meeting is October the 19th at 7pm. We will post the location in a few weeks. We will be conducting our annual vote for leadership positions. If you want to knock King Fred off out of the Presidential position, throw your hat in the ring. It may be improbable but not impossible.
That right! The pictures are loaded and they are tight and out of sight. Please send in any that you have and I'll post them too. Winners names and car descriptions coming soon!
To all members of the BLCC. Thank you for all of your support this year organizing the Car Show. We don't always agree on everything but we always respect each other. We also have the best intentions for organizing our car show.
We have lost and gained new members over the years, please keep this in mind...
New members will breathe new life, new skills and new ideas into the club, making us stronger.
Members that exit the club will also strengthen us by leaving with their lack of commitment, self serving attitudes, arrogance and Pete's Maui Jim's!
Keep up the great work and let's make the 2018 car show one to remember!
WOW... I have no idea where to start... Every year this show increases in attendance, popularity and quality of cars. At least that is what people tell me, I was stuck in the food tent all day ensuring that all those hungry customers experienced the best meat ever slid between soft buns.
Final car count was 300+ registered and another 50 to 100 non-registered.
We could not have pulled this off without all of the people that decided to make a pit stop during their Sunday Cruise and hang out with some like minded individuals. Roger the Deejay was as excellent and accommodating as usual. Let's not forget all of the BLCC Members that hosted this event.
Here are a few pictures. Stay tuned for the official 2017 Car Show Gallery after I wrestle the pictures off of the attractive young lady that volunteered to take photo's.
Here are our winners! More information to come!
Check out the latest update on Heath's Tempest. He has been busy this Spring and Summer! All the details are in the Current Members Projects under 1963 LeMans.
Mike and Julie Woelfle have supported us for 4 years with managing our BBQ. There is no possible way that we could pull off the mouth watering meals without their help! It was time to give back this year with a catering style BBQ.
Please support these pillars of the community by stopping in for some tasty butter tarts at the Belwood Market next time you are in town!
Below you can see Pete and Ron "Customizing" the BBQ. Never give car guys a reason to modify something!
Sorry about the "Flash Glare" on this picture folks. For some reason Ron took his hat off.
Look for Belwood Lake Car Club Branded BBQ's in a store near you!
Here is when we presented it to Mike.
Front Row: Mike Woelfle and Ron May
Back Row: MOPAR Attention Whore
Go to the Current Members Projects page to see all of the updates in Pete's progress on the camping trailer he is building for his Suburban!
Guys and Gals,
Here is an opportunity to see some of the nicest cars in the area. I attended this show last year and had a great time. The museum is open so go have a peek through it and we will be holding a contest to see who can find something in the museum older than Gary!
Get your head out of your ass and get to the meeting this Thursday August 17th. It will be at 7pm at the Belwood Park Pavilion. Be there or be a guy that drives MOPAR!
We had a great turn out to the Maple Leaf Acres show. Twice as many cars as last year and typical awards won by park residents. Great time had by all!
Don't forget that this weekend we will be at the Maple Leaf Acres Car Show - Saturday July 29th from
1pm to 4PM. The weather looks good and if you don't have the address... This is a good time to sharpen your Google Maps skills!
We are going to burn this place down with the hottest cars in the area!
We have a meeting planned for Thursday April 20th 7pm. It will be held at Ron May's Shop (Driveway beside house and first shop on the right). #6458 Wellington road #26.
We may have some new members joining us. Don't expect anything fancy, this is the first meeting of the new season. Ken will be out of town, if you want shirts or hats, please let Ken know and he will send the swag with Peter.
Pete Thorn posted a comment on the last blog asking for a picture of Fred Phillips and his sweet ride. I have numerous pictures of his truck but he is as evasive with pictures as Mexicans are with helping Trump build his wall. Until I get a good picture of him, we will have to use the one below.
We have a meeting planned for Thursday November 17, 7pm. It will be held at Ron May's Shop (Driveway beside house and first shop on the right). #6458 Wellington road #26
We will discuss the upcoming Santa Claus Parades
Elora parade , November 26, 6:15 PM
Fergus parade December 3, 1:30 PM
We have a tilt bed car trailer for a float. Laurie has offered her 64 Lemans Convertible to be on the float and Dave Clutton has also offered his 37 Dodge to on the float. There will be an arm wrestle at the meeting, winner decides. We have a couple of BLCC banners available and should plan on what we would like to do with the float and construct it the very next Saturday (19th)
Also we finally have our BBLC stainless steel cutouts available. Club decided $20 a piece. They need a little wee bit of prep, peel the plastic, maybe debur the back. Do it ourselves and the cost is much less.
Ken will also be bringing the sausages that we spoke about at the last meeting. Please post a comment if you want some $10 per pack. First come first served.
See you at the meeting. Bring your float ideas.
Ken Needs Your Help!
Last Wednesday night an unidentified perpetrator maliciously caused and unprovoked attack on Ken's professionally manicured lawn. Here is what we know so far:
1) Suspect car narrowed down to a Chevrolet built between but not including 1954 & 1956
2) Suspect yelled "Get Outta My Way You Young Whipper Snappers"
3) Suspect vehicle is obviously lacking a limited slip differential
4) Witnesses noticed Lasagna on the door handles and the strong smell of artesian bread wafting from the vehicle
5) Perpetrator confused as to the location of the "Burn Out" patch located nearby
Current reward for information leading to an arrest is a "Will do Grass Burnouts for Beer" t-shirt.
After a long winded message from Ron begging to retain his Presidency... He was voted in by a landslide.
Heath lost his battle to retain VP due to an aggressive smear campaign by Fred Phillips. Congratulations Fred! (Heath then proceeded to volunteer to more activity in 2017 than he has during his 4 years as VP)
Laurie is our 2017 Secretary/Administrator
Pete retains control of BLCC finances.
Ken remains the primary source of Marketing/Website activities.
Dave Barber has agreed to join. Welcome Dave!
Over all a great meeting! Thanks to all who brought food & drinks.
For those of you that left early. We also took some orders for hoodies. If you want one contact Ken ASAP!
Please use the 2017 Elections blog posting to nominate members of the club that you think would make good leaders. We will vote at the October 6th meeting. Currently there is the one position of Vice President that has recently opened up and we will need to fill this position. All other positions are up for grabs and will remain "as is" unless someone else is nominated and elected.
Current Available Positions for Nomination:
Director of Marketing and Website Development
Please leave your thoughts in the comment section of the blog.
It was determined at the meeting last night that we need to get together and sign the thank you cards as a group. It is imperative that we recognize everyone that has supported us with our car show.
We have booked a meeting October 6th at 6pm to sign the cards and have a BBQ and a few beverages (Thank you Gary H. for volunteering the Varley compound…). This will be an informal meeting to get to know everyone without the club business looming over our proverbial heads.
Please let me know if you will be attending and I will have the BBQ fired up and serving some of Cardinal’s finest offerings (please let me know if you intend on bringing a salad or desert). Gary H. will be bringing his 5 star award winning authentic Sicilian lasagna (little known fact… Horniblow is actually Italian for “Lasagna Expert”). Please respond in the website blog comment section.
The September Car Show wrap up and review meeting is upon us. We will be holding it at the Varley Compound located at 8 Skeen St. in Belwood. Meeting starts at 7pm doors open at 6:30. I have attached a map and let anyone not on the email list know.
I have also updated the website with pictures from the 2016 car show and an update on Ken Trilesky’s cars. Please read the blog and leave comments on the topics that have been added in also. PLEASE CLICK THE ADDS ALSO…

Now it is your turn to help us out! Please leave a comment and let us know what you thought about:
3) Our New Shirts
4) Our DJ Roger
7) Anything Else Your Heart Desires
Please help us improve for next year.
The next meeting will be held at Ken Trileskys shop in Caledon, Thursday August the 18, 7pm. We can meet at the pavilion in Belwood at 6 pm and leave around 6:10 for a nice cruise to Kens. For those who can't get to the pavillion in time, Kens Address is 1250 Olde Base Line Rd. Caledon Ontario.
The 2016 BLCC car show is fast approaching and I assume we will need another meeting the following week or two after. If you know someone in the club who is unable to get email or has been inadvertently been missed on the email list ,please let them know what is going on.
At the meeting we will have Pete give a brief treasurers report and Ken update us on our swag sales and website and blog.
I have a list of jobs we typically need to take care of ,this list is based on a lists composed last year. Some of the positions have been filled by volunteers already and we can have them give a quick report of how they are doing with that task at the meeting. If we need to add anything else to the list we can discuss it at the meeting.

Trophy ; We will have a "side " meeting to build the trophy
Tents and Tables;

Please continue to solicit sponsors for door prizes. We would should properly aknowledge these sponsors via our website and blog, facebook or via posters and banners that we may be able to borrow and display at our show. We should also plan ahead and have someone volunteer to thank our sponsors individually through "thank you cards" etc.
Next meeting Thursday night at the pavilion. Hopefully we can have the July meeting at Ken Trileskys shop.
Roger Hilts ( our volunteer DJ) has informed me that the recreation committee wants to have the car show on July the 30 from 1 to 3pm. He was disappointed that they didn't give him any options and that it was on the long weekend. However he said anyone who brings their car has free admission to the 50s 60 s dance that evening.
There is some confusion about a cruise night at the DQ in Fergus. Steve Davis who is organizing the cruise night for the Voo Doos of Alma dropped by and said it is June 24 Friday night despite what Old Autos or anyone else says. That is the night he is organizing the sound system and DJ.
Still awaiting pricing on stainless plates with our car logo. Will hopefully have some information for them on Thursday night.
We are also looking for final numbers on who will be attending the June 18th event in Milton. We are up to about 6 cars currently and are aiming for 12 or more.
We created this website to show off our rides, keep ourselves informed and stay in touch between meetings.
