Henry & Jordan Ellis

1966 Plymouth Fury II Sedan

During the summer of 2011 Henry and his younger son, Jordan were driving to Port Elgin to camp and enjoy the great beach. They noticed  some old cars for sale at the end of some driveways. Jordan asked if they could check them out.

One of the cars they checked out was a 65 Pontiac Parisienne convertible which Henry enjoyed test driving (or should I say navigating it as it's so huge). Henry was hooked! He always wanted an old car and knew they would have to buy one.

Henry always wanted a car with large fins but wanted something also in decent shape, driveable and affordable.  They spent over a year looking for a car. In summer of 2012, Jordan found this car on Kijiji,
1966 Plymouth Fury II sedan with a 318 motor.
They drove to Mt Forest and learned that it spent all its life in Alberta. The current owner needed the car off the property and wanted to sell to a person (s) who would really enjoy it and not just put a fresh (and still very needed) coat of paint  on it and re-sell it. The owners were thrilled that Henry has 3 children to enjoy it with! They made Henry an offer he couldn't refuse!

The Plymouth Fury sedans were quite commonly used as fleet cars for police and taxis as they were spacious, large wheel base ( thought to improve stability) and reasonably affordable.
Engine sizes were,  225, 318, 383, 426, 440

Car Improvements
2012: removed original muffler and had custom installed dual mufflers by Ron at True Auto in Fergus. He's the best in Fergus and reasonably priced.
Upholstery repair on back seat by, Sew Affordable in Fergus. Great job, reasonably priced.
2013: front brakes
2014: back brakes
2015: brand new windshield (provided by Jim of All Star Auto Glass - Reasonably Priced) , an OEM grill piece
2016: plan, restored carburetor, new halogen led  head lights.
Henry and Jordan would really like the car to get needed body work and a paint job. If you know of a person(s) who are reasonably priced and might allow Henry to help in anyway, please contact them at 226-820-0876
